A Little Kindness Goes A Long Way
She Never Expected This
Evelyn Green was a famous black actress from Vine Hallows, Massachusetts. She had a successful career, a loving husband, and two beautiful children. She seemed to have it all, until one tragic night changed everything.
She was driving home from a movie premiere with her family, when a drunk driver ran a red light and crashed into their car. The impact was devastating. Evelyn survived, but her husband and children died on the spot. She also suffered severe injuries that left her paralyzed from the waist down.
She woke up in the hospital, only to face the harsh reality of her situation. She had lost everything that mattered to her, and she had to live with constant pain and disability. She felt hopeless and alone.
The media and the public turned on her. They blamed her for the accident, saying that she was speeding or distracted. They accused her of being a bad mother and wife, and of faking her grief. They harassed her with hateful messages and threats. They made her life a living hell.
To ease the pain, she turned to vlogging her everyday experiences. She hoped to find some support and sympathy from her fans, but she only received more criticism and mockery. She felt like she had no one to talk to, no one who understood her.
One day, she was vlogging outside her house, when she accidentally dropped her phone. She couldn't reach it, and she felt helpless. She was about to give up, when she saw a little boy wearing glasses, who everyone also distanced themselves from, rush to pick it up for her. He smiled at her and handed her the phone. He introduced himself as Jake Matthews and said that he lived in the neighborhood. He said that he liked her movies, and that he watched her vlogs. He said that he was sorry for what happened to her, and that he wanted to be her friend.
In that moment, something awoke in Evelyn's heart. She realized that all hope was not lost, and that there were still good people in the world. She thanked him for his kindness, and asked if she could vlog about him. He said yes, and they started chatting. They found out that they had a lot in common, and that they enjoyed each other's company. They became friends, and they started hanging out regularly.
Evelyn felt a new sense of joy and purpose in her life. She felt like she had a reason to live, and a reason to smile. She felt like she had a family again, and that she was not alone. She felt grateful for Jake, and for their friendship.
This holiday season, despite our different beliefs or lack thereof, let's spread some joy to the world. Let's be kind and compassionate to each other, and to ourselves. Let's be like Jake and help someone who needs it. Let's be like Evelyn and appreciate what we have. Let's be like them and find happiness in the simple things. Let's be like them and make the world a better place. 🌎❤️
